How the All-Star game works

After the regular season the two conferences, Summit and Harbor, play an exhibition on the Wednesday of the first playoff week at 8:00 PM Eastern. Each side has 41 players: 26 starters voted in by the fans, and coaches pick the rest by overall.

Fans of every team vote, and human players can vote too, from the season's first kickoff until the All-Star day begins. Each of your picks counts like 2,500 fans, so players can swing a close race but not a landslide. You cannot vote for yourself, and saving a new ballot replaces the old one.

Players who are hurt, retired or without a team when the rosters are picked cannot be chosen; the next in line takes the spot. Everyone gets an inbox note when the rosters are out.

The game plays out live like any other. It never touches the standings, the playoffs, career stats, records or awards, and nobody can get hurt in it.
